My New Flute-Princess is called: Phyllis=)
That was the name that came to my mind and I though it suited her!
Harry Potter rules=)
What’s happened since I got my new flute (which feels like ages ago)?
Well… I’m gonna tell you all about my birthday!
The theme this year (and yes, I always have a theme), was Harry Potter, as 17 is kinda importan in the Harry Potter world as that’s when you become off-age. So everyone had to dress up from the Harry Potter books. It was a girls-party (because otherwise we’d be A Lot of people, and I could hardly room the 15 of us!)
Anyways. I’ve got some awesome pictures:P
Everyone dressed up. For some reason or another desided the people from St. Hallvard that they’d bee Gryffindors, while the girls from Kongsberg were Slytherins. Except some people. We got 4 Ravenclaws (everyone from St. Hallvard) and one of my friends from Kongsberg was McGonagall, so she was a teacher.
Here’s one of the teachers making a potion:
There was also a whole gang of Gryffindor’s:

Hanne Siri (McGonagall), Julie/me (Lily Evans), Anna-Kristi (Hermione Granger), Iselin and Åshild (Ginny Weasly)
We were missing a Gryffindor here, she had a concert, and came in later. Eline (Lavender) came in later:)
We had a wonderful night, and when we followed Susanne, Elisabeth and Anne Sofie Åshild went over and asked one of the Train Conductors (Can one say that?) where platform 9 3/4 was. He didn’t know:P
There are more pictures on Facebook (I don’t bother to put in all of them here)
Listening to Haydn’s 1st movement of the Surprise Symphnie (nr 94) in Music class. I’ll write more later:)
What to name my new Flute?
On Thrusday my flute, Hideki, got some tecknical problems. Some of the keys didn’t work and my flute teacher said to take him to Lillestrøm, which is like one and a half hour away from Kongsberg.
So today, my father drowe e the whole way there just to fix my flute. He then said we could take a look on some new flutes!! I was so excited:)
This will be my birthday and Christmas present from the entire family.
Anyways. I tried two flutes, bth with silver mouth-pieces. It was very easy to decide, no doubt, though of course the best flute was the most expensive:P
I only have one problem: What to call her? Oh, yes. I think it’s a She. Because the flute has such a grace that it is no doubt about it anymore:)
And, also all my other instruments are boys.
Instruments and names (I don’t own Frank, George and Francis, though):
Oboe – Fred
Clarinett – Greorge
Violin – Francis
Amstrong flute – Gregor=)
Yamaha flute – Hideki (Because he’s Japanese)
Piano – Paul (Because it’s a Chimel piano, so he needed a German name, and because I simply love Paul McCartney:) and because Paul the Piano is kinda catchy:P
But what about the new flute?
It’s a Myiazawa flute. But I think the name can be from whatever country. It would be wonderful if some of you could help me come up with names that are suitable for a beautiful little lady flute
I have to catch a train to get to Elise’s 18th Birthday:) Talk to you later!
Music today:
The Sore Feet song by Allan Kerr
Konayuki by Remioromen (Though I HATE the keyboard stuff in the background of that song)
Everything of Coldplay, but especially Green Eyes (Because I’ve got greene eyes, so I kinda relate)
Something to think about:
Some stuff I’m wondering about right now:
How much of what adults say can be trusted?
How much of what ANYONE says can be trusted?
Is it allowed to sell cakes on the train from Kongsberg to Oslo?

Me wondering in the top of a tree:)
We’ve reasently been having a discussion in class about how the teacher meant that everyone in our generation was generally stupid. She didn’t give any sources and didn’t explain well enough what she meant. I believe she’d red a newspaper arictle where it said that we in our generation don’t have a good enough general education (We don’t know enough to be holding a general conversation with adults:P)
Well… Truth is our IQ has actually gone up. Every generation of humans become smarter. Nice:)
(Here’s an article about IQ, seeing as I’m always annoyed at people who don’t prove their statements. It’s always so easy to say what you’ve heard. But is that correct?)
my entire calss is walking around thinking about how they’re so much more stupid than the generation over us, now because we’ve been told that. We’re just 17, we are not smart enough or refletive enough to question statements comming from teachers and other adults!
Once I get home and tell what I’ve learnt in school, what we learnt on an extra course and all, is questioned. Sometimes when I talk to other adults they’re often mean just the opposite of what I’ve learnt. How do we tell who’s correct and who isn’t?
You know, I have no idea.
We were told in school on Friday that there are a lot of instincts that boys and girls have that comes from the time when we were hunters and not TV-watchers. He told us about how the boys were going out to seek danger to find pray and protect the women, while the women stayd at home to take care of the child so the humanity would survive. What a form for teamwork that is!
Women probably had to take care of their children much more than other animals because we use much more time to grow up. But some years ago the girls didn’t want to stay home anymore. You have to admit it’s kinda boring! So we wanted to work. We girls have made a MAJOR change in how the human society works, and I’m provd of it!
But he also told us how the boys don’t like it. They kinda HAVE to be better, earn more and feel like they’re protecting and providing food to their family.
We talked to some of the boys in class who said that it’s cool to have a girlfriends to like to play TV-games, but once the girls are better it’s not cool at all! The boys have to feel in controll and let the girls win on purpos. But once the girl wins because she’s better it’s a major crisis for the boy.
When I was talking about this with my aunt she just said such a statement was redicilous and the women’s role is JUST something we choose ourselves. It has nothing to do with genes. I don’t agree. Boys have a tendency of seeking more dangers than girls, and I’m not sure we’re learning that in our society today.
At least nobody has told me not too. I prefere to live, more than driving as fast as possible.
What do you think?
Are we ONLY a result of the society, or is it both genes and society?

I'm so proud of us all!
And ending on the bright side (like they do in the evening news):
Some days ago me and my class had to clean the caffeterai-room-thingy, so we grabbed a couple of broomsticks and pretended to be Harry Potter! When we finished we ran through the halls down in the basement playing mission impossible:)
Over and out for this time!
ps. Me and Iselin was watching Secret this weekend=) Check out th Piano Battle on Youtube! (Don’t you want to play like that too!!)
Of Barak Obama, Nobel Peace Prizes and Women’s rights!
Today Barak Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize by the Norwegian people. Right now I’m watching the Norwegian news. We are of course celebrating him, But everyone has to discuss why he’s given it. They all say “He hasn’t done anything yet!”, and our reporter in the US was just criticising him to the fullest. Is it possible!?
That a Norwegian US reporter can stand there and say stuff like that! I know that you can say anything you want in Norway but I fear that it’s becoming too much f a trend saying stupid thing and, especially for the oldest people in society, keeping all their prejudices. In that way you get quite a split society, if you understand what I mean. We young people are used to other stuff than the older, and most importantly, the oldest are.

Random flower in my livingroom
We’re giving Obama the prize, probably because he’s now a symbol for improving the world. We’re trying to change the world for the better, and need a front figure. We’re also giving the Nobel Prize so that he’ll have something like that to live up to. Let’s hope he does!
He’s also cooled down the temperature in the world, when it comes to conflict and war. The US is not such a treathening power who want to go to war anymore.
Now they’re talking about the US relations to other countries, like Iraq for example. Still not very on Obama’s side. But on the other hand Iran, Iraq and the countries around hate women. There’s a new meaning to the book by Stieg Larson: Män som hatar kvinnor, “men who hates women”. Or as it’s called in English: The girl with the dragoon tattoo. It’s got nothing to do with anything, and is a bad translation!
Anyway, Did you hear that woman in Palestrina are not allowed to ride on motorcycles? How odd ain’t that? So, people out there, if you live in a country where women are not allowed to go to school or ride a motorcycle you know you should learn Rhetoric speech, get an education and overthrow your government!
Well, the news is finally coming to an end with some totally unimportant football stuff about a player who hasn’t kicked a ball in the goal for a couple of weeks.
And thanks to Matthias-senpai for this link. It’s from Seinfeld. It’s the best phone-“I’m not available right now” thing I’ve ever heard.
What about some Little Britain? They’re Abroad this time:)
Of the society today!
In Oslo, as well as London, you can’t move one step without being caught on a surveillance camera. In a couple of years we’ll all end up in a world a la the book 1084, by George Orwell. In Norway, it’s soon going to be allowed for the government to, like in America, to listen to our phone calls and check what internet sites we’re visiting.
In France, if you download illegally three times, the government will block your internet.
Is this okay!?
In our time, everyone’s downloading music, movies, books, games and so on. I know it’s a huge problem, but I don’t think this is the way to solve the problem!
You know when you actually BUY a movie, and watch it, you’ll have to wait ages before the movie appears. First there might be that awful video where it says: Don’t buy illegal videos! Or the other one that says: Downloading pirate movies is illegal.
After these you’ll have to watch the: This movie is for private use only… thing.
And when you’ve waited 10 minutes for the things you can’t skip on your remote, you finally get to the movie trailers that you can skip.
Wouldn’t you be tempted to go and find an illegal version when the movie companies are attacking you like this when you Have bought the movie!?
Is this okay with you?
If illegal downloading is this wrong, why do we get the movies that say that we’re not supposed to download, when we have bought the movie. Just you think about that for a second!
Halo, again!
I know it’s been a while. But sometimes… Blogging is not the thing!
School’s started again, and during the Holidays I was in Scotland: we stayd in Perth for T in The Park and spent a couple of days in Edinburg after the festival.

From left: Jørgen, Me, Eline and Synne, taking in the breathtaking veiw of Perth!
I also went to Copenhagen and Køge (Denmark), Trondheim (Norway), and Stockholm and my cabbin in Sweden.
We’re building a new kitchen here at home, so it looks like a mess right now, but I believe it’ll be great when it’s finished!
And… there’s not much more to tell.
Oh, yes. My friends from Brazil: Gabriela and André, came to visit:) I already miss you guys!
And now school’s back a 100%.
What have I been doing whenever I didn’t have school and music?
Well… I’ve really descovered The Beatles. I just love them!!
You just Have to watch Help!, A Hard Day’s Night and Across the Universe!
Hm… I’ve started a new manga, it’s called Shinshi Doumei Cross (I think), and it’s really great. (And since I usually don’t read manga, it have to be good for me to bother to read it:P)
And I’ve caught up on Naruto again: Naruto Shippuuden ep 126 (Scary. There’s a lot of episodes, by now!! This is kind of the Next series after the first houndred season!)
And Ponyo by Miyazaki is finally out on Norwegian cinemas, so I’ve seen it! It was cute, though a bit odd in Norwegian after seeing it in Japansese first. Souske was named Sondre for instance.
I have to get to school, so over and out for now,
Julie
Summary desu!
Whenever something actually happens in my life I stop blogging for some insane reason!
(which some people have complained about. Anwyas… I don’t have many readers so it shouldn’t matter much)
What’s happened since the Alice in Wonderland week you ask?
I’ve been to Oslo and seen Mamma Mia! Live on stage! It was fantastic! Tale and I was in the first row and it was like magic!

It's the Mamma Mia! ticket and a petal from the stage!
At the same time Alexander Rybak won the Eurovision Contest with his Fairytale. Everyone in Norway’re so proud of him, but… we’re all damn sick of that song by now. It’s played all the time on the Telly, radio and etc…
He won on the 16 of May and the day after it was the national day in Norway, and I was marching with my band as every 17 of May. But this year we played Fairytale just because he won. It made everyone happy, though!

Me on the 17th of May
So that week everything was about Mamma Mia!
But the week after… it’s POKÉMON! I’ve started playing my old Gameboy game again. A bit sad I know, but it’s fun! The music is rubbish, though. My Charizard is on level 50 now. I’ve got 5 badges too! Go me! (clap, clap, clap)
Elise and I had a get-together-and-play evening, where we played Mario and the theme music from the menu of the Pokémon Stadium Nintendo 64 game. It was so much fun, and we even made a small dance. The only problem was that I couldn’t stop laughing, (You should’ve seen Elise’s cute dance), and it’s not easy to play flute when you laugh, so I kind of ruined it a little!
But… I’ve also watched the entire Britain’s Got Talent 2009 show on Megavideo. I simply loved the winners, Divinity. They were totally awesome!
I went to Nøtterøy, Tønsberg together with Sigrid too. We had three wonderful days with sun, ice cream, water and boats. Then only problem was that her dog thought it was amazing the way the water flies through the air when a wave hits the boat. It tried to catch it and… dun dun duuuuun…
The dog fell from the boat and into the water. It was quite dramatic, it could’ve ended up into the motor, or drowned, but luckily it could swim. We managed to save it and ten minutes later it was back to catching the water drops.

Me using the fantastic cartoon-study technique!
Since last time I blogged I’ve had my final Science test and even got the grade back. I managed to get the grade I want for the test so I kept my Science grade. It’s a final subject so if I’d scored badly on this last test I’d get a horrible grade in the subject! But I didn’t!

My Science notes...
I studied my head off (on my own study scale at least) and managed the grade I wanted!

The only way to keep me awake was tea and apples:)
Today Elizaveta, Elise and I arranged the piece Still Doll (a Japanese song that’s used as the ending song for the Vampire Knight anime) for flute, cello and vocals. It’s amazing, and we even want to enter a cosplay competition and perform it. Don’t blame Elise, she’s not the nerd, it’s the other two:)

The song’s a bit Emilie Autumn goes Pirates of the Caribbean goes Japanese

Our self-aranged sheets for Still Doll, these are the flute sheets!
I’m watching La Corda d’oro second passo. It’s really good so far. It’s a good sequel to the great anime about music. It’s making me start to think though. They say that technique and feeling is very different for a musician kind of. Some are really good at the techniques while others play more by the heart. I’ve noticed it’s a bit of a discussion about this in the musical world.
Here’s what I think: I can like whatever kind of music, the only thing that can be put as a standard, or request from what I listen to is: it should strikes me in the chest and gives me goose bumps. Eg. When I listened to Mozart’s requiem I had this feeling. When the music gives a response in my body and soul then it’s complete. You don’t need to be great to achieve this, you just need to play by the heart.
The thing is… if you’ve mastered to play by the heart then start practise technique a little, because it’s important to combine them to give a perfect musical performance.
Check out: Atashinichi no Danshi – a good J-dorama
and this funny youtube video: Total Eclipse of the Heart: Literal video Version.
Oh well… My language didn’t work at all today,
And I apologise that I’m not updating often enough.
Mata ne!!
“A very merry unbirthday to you!”
Though I really don’t have the time right now I just had to blog just a little!
Right now I’m waiting for my music sheets to print out. I’m singing a song from the Swedish film As it is in Heaven tomorrow in my singing lesson and have to print out the sheets.
As it is in heaven – Gabriellas Sang <- For free sheets!
The thing is I have so many random links that I have to post them:D
Check out the Akinator. I got really facinated. He gets nearly every celebrity imaginable! Except Karlson på taket, a swedish cartoon figure. This is what science lessons are for, right?
I just think you Have to read this short-story. It’s as simple as that! It’s just brilliant. It’s based on a manga (or vise versa, not sure..) and it’s about the 100% Perfect Girl, who isn’t pretty but is still perfect. Oh, never mind. Just read it!!
And you also have to read this cartoon (this is slightly shorter than the last link, so it’s more likely that you’ll click on it:P). It’s a funny cartoon about people downloading music illegaly! Very funny, but also very true.
And this site is just plain awesome! But to understand the humor of it, you simply have to know a little about music. Notes and signs and stuff. Something my entire class should know all about! (Just remember that the Norwegian note H is read as a B in English…)
And a beautiful version of Hallelujah sung by Kokia. Just listen to it!!

Tea? "Half a cup if you don't mind"
What’s in right now you ask?
Alice in Wonderland is!!
(If you haven’t seen it, or just wish to see it again, here’s the film on youtube!)
“Can you stand on your head?” – The Cheshire Cat
“It’s just a rabbit with a wastecoat and a watch” – Alice
“Don’t just do something, stand there!” – The White Rabbit
“Half a cup if you don’t mind” (And then they slice the tea cup in two and ours tea in it!!) – The March Hare
“The time, the time, who’s got the time” – The March Hare
For more fantastic quotes watch the film or check out the Script here!

The March Hare and the Cheshire Cat:)
MT in my class is the Cheshire Cat and I’m honored to say that I’m the March Hare. Why you ask? Because I’m as nuts, I enjoy tea and singing. And generally because I think he’s cute and awesome! Yey!
So… “A Verry Merry Unbirthday to You!” (Singing loudly while drinking tea!)

11/10/2009 at 6:52 pm (Life, Media) (Afganistan, comment on comment, Happiness, Jagland, naruto, Obama, Peace prize)
I’m so happy I got a comment I could write about:)
Thanks a lot!
A lot of people has the same opinnion as you about Obama being given the Peace price and all. He hasn’t done anything yet. I agree to that too.
He hasn’t even been the president for long.
I believe that “Norway” (a very Few people (5?) from the Norwegian parlament, actually) decided to give it to him because he’s now the symbol of hope and peace. And I think by giving him the peace price they wanted to put a pressure on him, so he would try to live up to the price.
I think they know as well as the rest of us that it is a gamble, but the guy who is leader of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Thorbjørn Jagland, is known for believing the best of people and, though all of us look upon it as very naive, I believe it’s a good quality to have.
Most of us usually just see people’s bad sides and judge them before they’ve dne anything. So, though the decision of giving it to Barack Obama might be given on very vague reasons I’m sure he had his reasons.
It’s also very important to try and fail. The handing out of the peace prize is usually very debated, but some more than others.
You also mentioned stopping the war in Afganistan, when speaking about Obama. It’s true he should do something about it, but what would you hae done?
If all the forces in Afganistan is taken out, what will Afganistan do? Will they suddenly have a functional government without corrupion? Will they suddenly have a functional democracy, where everyone goes to school so they’ll be able to think for themselves and make good decisions for the society?
Will they manage to do it themselves? If not, what would you do to help them?
Anyone who has a opinnion can respond:)
Here’s an Anime to watch. It’s called Happiness and could be slightly related to the topics theme, concidering the title.
Mata ne:)
ps. Remember to watch Naruto, people. A new episode every Thursday on Anilinkz:)
pps. Notice that we’re on Naruto episode 129 in the Shippuuden series! And that’s after all the seasons in the first series! Will it ever end? (I kinda hope not, but…)
